The school opened on 19th of June 1874 in a leased building under HT Gawen R. NASH. In 1875 a school building 'of brick or stone' to accomodate 60 pupils, with a three-room residence detached was built by the Department on the Common School Reserve. In 1874 the a.a. was 43. At some time in its early history the school was known as SS1418 Byaduk. Gawen NASH continued as HT until 20th of July 1877. About 1885 a portion of the schoolhouse was converted into living quarters. The schoolroom which then accomodated 40 pupils had a two-room brick or stone residence attached. The school closed on 4th of August 1963.
