George MERCER b. 1838 Preston, Lancashire, England d. 1886 Casterton, Vic., buried Casterton Old Cemetery, son of William MERCER and Elizabeth CRONK. He left England May 1855 on board the "Oliver Lang," age 16, by himself, arrived Melbourne July 1855.

Harriet RINGER b. 1837 Norwich, Norfolk, England, d. 1901 Warracknabeal, Vic., buried Warracknabeal Cemetery, daughter of John RINGER and Rachel FREGELLE. She Left England in 1862 by herself on board the "Ivanhoe" and arrived Melbourne, February 1863.

George MERCER and Harriet RINGER were married in 1863, possibly in Melbourne, and made their way to Casterton, S-W Victoria where a number of children were born.

After the death of her husband at Casterton in 1886 and the marriages of her son's George and Henry, Harriet RINGER moved to Warracknabeal in 1889 and she died there in 1901.
