John TURNER 1854-1948 was born at Winchelsea, Victoria, son of John TURNER & Mary Ann LAWRENCE.
Eliza LORD 1858-1943 was born in the Penola forest, S-E South Australia to William LORD & Bridget QUIRK who are both buried at Casterton, S-W Victoria.
John TURNER and Eliza LORD were married at Casterton in 1878 and they raised a family and farmed at Corndale on the Glenelg river, north of Casterton until at least 1916, before moving to the Mount Gambier area in S-E South Australia where Eliza died in 1943 and John died aged 93y in 1948
The TURNER children attended school at Corndale where the names of three of their sons were added to the Corndale S.S WW1 Honour Roll after service with the 1st AIF.
John TURNER died aged 93y at Mount Gambier, South Australia in 1948 after his wife Eliza had died there in 1943 and both were buried in the Mount Gambier, Lake Terrace cemetery.
