WEST WIMMERA MAIL - Friday April 20, 1894

BOOROOPKI RACES
This meeting was held on Wednesday last under most favourable circumstances. A large number of spectators were present, and the fields were large and included some good performers. The management was effective. Mr G. REECE was hon. Secretary, and Messrs. COLLINS and CARRACHER handicappers, the two latter gentlemen also filling the positions of starter and clerk of scales respectively. Mr B LAVERY was judge, and Mr. J. MULRANEY clerk of the course. The details of the racing were as follow :--

MAIDEN PLATE
CURRUTHER's "The Lout" (Lavery) 1st
REECE's "Cannibal" (owner) 2nd
DOUGLAS' "Mispah" (Scott) 3rd

GALLOWAY HANDICAP
LACKMAN's "NimbleFoot" 9st (Scott) 1st
LAVERY's "My Queen" 8st 7lbs (H Lavery) 2nd
REECE's "Spratt" 7st 10lbs (Lancaster) 3rd
Six started, a good race.

HURDLE RACE
McCRACKEN's "Rippling Wave" 12st (McDougal) 1st
BELL's "Columbus" 11st 9lbs (Heath) 2nd
MULRANEY's "Sultan" 10st 5lbs (Smith) 3rd
"Edella", "Neighan" and "Au Revoir" also ran, but they fell during the race, the rider of the latter horse, McDonald, getting a severe bruising. "Rippling Wave" was well ridden and won comfortably.

BOOROOPKI HANDICAP
McCRACKEN's "Rippling Wave" 8st 7lbs (Scott) 1st
CURRUTHER's "The lout" 9st (Lavery) 2nd
BELL's "Forget-me-not" 8st 3lbs (Heath) 3rd
Six starters. Won by a length after a good race.

LADIES BAG
REECE's "Lizette" 10st 12lbs (owner) 1st
BELL's "Forget-me-not" 10st 12lbs (Heath) 2nd
LAVERY's "My Queen" 10st 12lbs (owner) 3rd
Four others started, the winner jumped off at the start, and won by several lengths, good race for places.

HACK RACE
BELL's "Archduke" (Heath) 1st
CRABTREE's "Leopoldine" 2nd. Four started.
