Edward LANDER and family arrived in South Australia on the "Harpley" in 1848, settled for a number of years in South Australia. Most of the family settled in the early 1860s at Carapook, Bruk Bruk and Berrik (Muntham) between Casterton and Coleraine, S-W Victoria. Edward LANDER and his wife Mary Ann resided near Darlington Point, NSW until the 1890s when they returned to Adelaide, South Australia as an elderly couple and lived with their daughter Mary Ann OTTAWAY, wife of John OTTAWAY, at Port Adelaide. Edward died there in 1895 and Mary Ann died there in 1898.
