William BROOKER b. 1828 Isleworth, Middlesex, England, son of Michael BROOKER and Lucy STRONG was married in 1852 in London, England to Maria WHEELER b. 1829 Brentford, London, England, daughter of Henry WHEELER and Mary NORMAN.

William and Maria BROOKER departed on November 4, 1856 from Plymouth, England on board the "William" and arrived at Port Fairy Bay (Belfast) in the Colony of Victoria on January 25, 1857. William is listed on the ship's records as being illiterate, whereas Maria is listed as being able to read and write. Both of Church of England persuasion. William's occupation is recorded as a Sawyer. William was engaged by Mr Tellotson of Rosebrook, Victoria (on the coast between Warrnambool and Port Fairy), commencing from January 28, 1857 for the wage of £60.0.0., for a term of 12 months.

By 1863 the BROOKER family were at Digby, S-W Victoria and then by 1868 had moved to Hexham on the Hopkins river, near Mortlake, Victoria.

Maria died in 1878 and William BROOKER and family moved to New South Wales. William was residing at Gunbar, near Hay, NSW when he died in 1902, aged 74y.

William and Maria BROOKER had the following known children:
