Morris Henry EDWARDS 1831-1904, b. Flintshire, Wales, son of Edward EDWARDS and Jane JONES; d. Casterton, Victoria ; married at "Rifle Downs" Station, near Digby in 1856 to Eleanor Anne LAMBORNE 1838-1914, b. London, England, daughter of John LAMBORNE and Eleanor Ann BRAZIER ; d. Casterton, Victoria.
Eleanor Ann LAMBORNE (aged 13-15y) arrived at Portland, Victoria with her widowed Eleanor (38) and four other siblings, Christopher (11), Eliza (8), Martha (7) and Frederick (5). The family had emigrated from London, England in October 1854 on the ship "Severn" which arrived at Portland, S-W Victoria, Australia on 30 Dec 1854 with passengers and livestock, some of which was breeding stock imported by Richard LEWIS of "Rifle Downs" station, near Digby, Victoria. It appears that Morris Henry EDWARDS was on this same voyage as a handler for the stallion "King Alfred" imported by Richard LEWIS.
Morris EDWARDS was a groom, who had a house in the 1882 Commercial Sector Plan of Henty Street, Casterton. He leased the "Albion Hotel Stables, Casterton, Victoria for almost 30 years up to 1901.
Morris EDWARDS died at Casterton in 1904 and his widow Eleanor died there in 1914, and both are buried in the Casterton New Cemetery.
