Israel MALING, his wife Mary Ann and two children arrived at Portland, Victoria in 1853 from Plymouth, England on the "Eliza" and more children were born at Portland before they moved north c.1859 to "Muntham" Station and Merino where the remainder of the children were born. Israel MALING was recorded as a Farrier and Blacksmith.

Israel MALING died and was buried at Merino, Victoria in 1887 and his widow Mary Ann MALING also died and was buried there in 1905.
