John McINTYRE was b. 1847 South Knapdale, Argyllshire, Scotland, son of Donald McINTYRE and Sarah McMILLAN. His parents Donald McINTYRE and Sarah McMILLAN appear to have married in 1842 in South Knapdale, Argyllshire, Scotland. John, aged 6 along with his parents and 3 brothers appear to have arrived at Port Adelaide in 1852 and then moved to the Mount Gambier area of south-east South Australia where more children were born. John and Mary McINTYRE died at Mount Gambier, SA and are buried in the Lake Terrace cemetery.

John McINTYRE from Knapdale, Argyllshire, Scotland, son of Donald McINTYRE and Sarah McMILLAN and Mary Ann SHAW from Geelong, Vic, daughter of John SHAW & Ann HOLLEY, were married in 1866 at Strathdownie, S-W Victoria.

This couple had children born at Hotspur, Casterton & Coleraine in Victoria and Glenburnie in South Australia from 1868 to 1885. John McINTYRE appears to have a number of siblings - Neil, Duncan, isabella, Edward, Matthew, Donald, Archibald & Euphemia McINTYRE who lived in south-east South Australia.
