Lachlan McLEAN & Janet McLEAN arrived at portland on the "Arabian" under the Highland & Island Emigration Scheme in Sep 1854.

The family settled at Grassdale near Digby, north of Portland in S-W Victoria.

The family moved to Omeo in north east Victoria after the birth of thier last child in 1870 at Hotspur, S-W Victoria.

Lachlan McLEAN died at Omeo in 1888 and his widow janet died there in 1897.
