Lachlan McLEAN b. 1823 Isle of Skye, Scotland, son of William McLEAN and Ann McKINNON was married in 1850 on the Isle of Skye to Janet McSWAIN b. 1830 Isle of Skye, Scotland, daughter of Paul McSWAIN and Janet ___.

Lachlan McLEAN & Janet McLEAN arrived at portland on the "Arabian" under the Highland & Island Emigration Scheme in Sep 1854.

The family settled at Grassdale near Digby, north of Portland in S-W Victoria.

The family moved to Omeo in north east Victoria after the birth of thier last child in 1870 at Hotspur, S-W Victoria.

Lachlan McLEAN died at Omeo in 1888 and his widow janet died there in 1897.
