Murdoch "Murdo" McLENNAN 1827-1909 was b. Contin, Ross Shire, Scotland, son of Roderick McLENNAN and Janet McLENNAN and married in 1857 in Inverness, Scotland to Catherine McKAY 1828-1911, who was b. Ross Shire, Scotland, daughter of Donald McKAY and Mary STEWART.

The family appears to have arrived from Scotland in 1857-58, as their daughter Mary was born in 1858 at "Pleasant Hills" station, Digby, S-W Victoria and two more children were born in the Digby ara in 1860 to 1863.

The family later moved to the nearby Merino area of S-W Victoria where Murdoch was a shepherd on "Glenlivet" station in the 1860s. Later he was the overseer for many years for Samuel WINTER-COOKE on "Murndal" station at Tahara and became a grazier on his own property of "Fair Hill" at Tahara.

Murdoch & Catherine McLENNAN both died at their property "Fair Hill" at Tahara, near Merino, S-W Victoria and were buried in the Merino cemetery, Murdoch died in 1909 and his widow Catherine died in 1911.
