John & Elias BATESON sons of Elias BATESON and Elizabeth COURSE from Cambridgeshire arrived at Portland, S-W Victoria on the "General Hewett" in 1856 and were employed by the KIRBY family at "Spring Bank" Pastoral Run, near Casterton, S-W Victoria.

Elias BATESON 1836-1899 married Margaret PINCOTT in 1859 at Casterton, S-W Victoria. Margaret PINCOTT 1837-1914 was b. 1835, Dalkeith, Scotland, daughter of John PINCOTT and Margaret _____.

Elias and Margaret BATESON died at Kaniva in the west Wimmera in 1899 and 1914 respectively.

John BATESON, brother of Elias married Margaret FIEGHERY from Ireland in 1868 at Ballarat.
