John HOWLETT, b. 1830, Cambridgeshire, England son of Isaac HOWLETT & Mary LISTER married in 1850, Cambridgeshire, England to Mary Ann JEX, b. 1831 England, daughter of William JEX & ___.

John HOWLETT and family emigrated from Cambridgeshire, England in 1857 on the "Bee" and arrived at Geelong, Victoria. More children were born near Ballarat before the family movd west and settled in the Carapook area of S-W Victoria, according to the notes "Early Days at Carapook" by Jean MURRAY.

John HOWLETT died at Casterton in 1909 and his widow Mary Ann died there in 1918 and they were both buried in the Casterton new cemetery.
