John & Elizabeth CAWKER had a known family of 5 from c.1833 to 1847, born in Devonshire, England. The family arrived on the "Joshua" at Geelong in 1854 with John settling and working as a carpenter in the Geelong and Queenscliff districts. Before 1865, John & Elizabeth moved to Casterton in S-W Victoria where their sons Thomas and John were involved in Mail Coach driving. John CAWKER, snr., died at Casterton in 1865 and his widow Elizabeth died there in 1885, and both are buried in the old Casterton cemetery.
