Angus CAMERON 1815-1875, born Kilmallie, Argyllshire, Scotland son of Sgt. Allan "Ewen" CAMERON of the 79th Hihlanders and Margaret CAMERON c.1774-1867, died at the residence of his son-in-law, Thomas CAWKER, Casterton, S-W Victoria, Australia and was buried in the Sandford cemetery.

Jane "Jean" CAMERON 1827-1903, born near Fort William, Inverness-shire, Scotland daughter of Roderick CAMERON and Margaret AITCHISON, died at the residence of her son-in-law, Peter OLSON, Mullumbimby, NSW, Australia and was buried in the Mullumbimby cemetery.

Angus CAMERON and Jean CAMERON married in 1847, Kilmallie, Argyllshire, Scotland, and arrived at Portland, S-W Victoria, Australia from Scotland in November 1851 on the "Tasmania" with their 3 year old son Allan CAMERON and an infant daughter Mary CAMERON. The family appears to have lived at Portland, S-W Victoria until at least 1866, and in this time another six children were born at Portland. Two of them died young and were buried in the old cemetery at North Portland.

After 1866 the CAMERON family appears to have moved north to the Sandford or Casterton area. Angus CAMERON's mother Margaret CAMERON died in 1867, aged 91/94, at Dwyer's Creek, near Sandford and was buried in the Sandford cemetery.

DIED. -- CAMERON.-At Dwyer's Creek, Sandford, on October 20th, after five days' illness, MARGARET CAMERON, widow of the late Sergeant Allan Cameron, of the 79th Highlanders, native of Fort William, Scotland, aged 91 years. Home papers please copy.

2. Mary CAMERON, b. 1850, Kilmallie, Argyllshire, Scotland, d. 1927, Casterton, S-W Vic., m. 1871, to Thomas CAWKER 1838-1926, b. Devonshire, England, d. 1926, Casterton, S-W Victoria. They had 7 children.
3. Margaret Jane CAMERON, b. 1855, Portland, S-W Victoria, d. 1929, Byron Bay, NSW., m. 1891, NSW to Peter OLSON 1854-1916, b. Norway, d. 1916, Mullumbimby, NSW.
4. Christina CAMERON, b. 1855, Portland, S-W Victoria, d. 1858, Portland, S-W Victoria.
5. Jane "Jeanie" CAMERON, b. 1857, Portland, S-W Victoria, d. 1884, Murtoa, N-W Victoria. Died from typhoid fever at her sister's residence in Murtoa.
6. James CAMERON, b. 1860, Portland, S-W Victoria, d. 1866, Portland, S-W Victoria.
