William DIWELL b. 1825, Tunbridge Wells, Sussex, England, son of Richard DIWELL and Elizabeth SINNOCK, was married in 1847 in London to Margaret Ann TURNER, daughter of Thomas TURNER & Maria ___.

William & Margaret DIWELL along with 3 young children arrived at Portland Bay, S-W Victoria in 1852 on the "Duke of Richmond".

Three more children were born at Portland before they appear to be located in Merino in 1858.

William DIWELL was a bricklayer in Merino and he died in an accidental fall (inquest finding) at the Merino Flour Mill in 1871.

Harriett DIWELL b. ca 1832, Sussex, England, sister of William DIWELL arrived in Victoria in 1854 on the ship "Indian Ocean". She married Henry ELPHICK in 1855 and they had 3 children at Portland before 1860.
