John Henry Hutchins PENNY b. 1857 Devonshire, England, son of John PENNY and Elizabeth Mary PRIDHAM married in 1885, Glenburnie, South Australia to Annie Eliza STEEL b. ca1866 ___, daughter of Archibald STEEL and Isabelle LIVINGSTONE.

This family appears to have lived in South Australia before moving over the border where John PENNY became a Grazier on "Ardno East" Strathdownie, Victoria.

George Alexander PENNY was one of their sons who served in WW1 and obtained a Soldier Settlement block on the Glenorchy Estate near Merino, Victoria. He is listed on the Strathdownie WW1 Honour Roll.

Another son Robert Adolphus PENNY was one of their sons who also served in WW1 and was also listed on the WW1 Strathdownie Honour Roll.
