George SIMKIN b. 1798 Wickhambrook, Suffolk, England, son of Thomas SIMKIN and Ruth HOWE according to the IGI. He was first married in 1816 at Wickhambrook, Suffolk to Mary HONEYBALL b. 1787. Mary SIMKIN died in England in 1838 and George had a second marriage in England in 1849 to Martha "Eliza" STUBBING. George & Eliza SIMKIN and some of their childrem emigrated in 1852 and arrived at Portland, to Victoria, Australia in 1853 on the "Anne Milne" and others emigrated in 1854 on the "Shand" arriving at Portland in January 1855. George SIMKIN died at Digby in 1875 and his second wife Maria died there in 1895 and they are both buried in the Digby cemetery.
