Hector Alexander McLEAN b. c.1835, North America, son of Norman McLEAN and Mary DIXON was married in 1872 in Victoria, Australia to Mary Ann HUMPHRIES, b. 1848, Gloucestershire, England, daughter of Charles HUMPHRIES & Caroline SAMPSON.

Hector McLEAN was the Inn Keeper of the Sandford Hotel in the 1870s and he died at Casterton in 1897. His widow Mary Ann died at Casterton in 1930 and both are buried in the Sandford Cemetery.
