Farquhar McLENNAN was b. 1838, Ross-shire, Scotland, son of Duncan McLENNAN and Christina McRAE. Farquhar was one of the six children of Duncan & Christina McLENNAN who, with their parents, emigrated from Liverpool on the ship "Marion" which arrived at Adelaide, South Australia in December 1854. The passenger list recorded the family as :--Duncan McLENNAN (36, Agr. Labourer from Dingwall, Ross, Scotland), Christiana (36), Mary (19, Domestic Servant), Farquhar (15, Labourer), Alexander (13), Julia (13) [sic Isabella], Donald (8) Barbara (7). The family appears to have remained in South Australia until 1862 when Duncan McLENNAN selected land at Bowtell's Creek, near Sandford in S-W Victoria and established a home there which he named "Burnside."

Rebecca MATHESON was b. ~1846, Ross-shire, Scotland, daughter of Farquhar MATHESON and Mary MATHESON. Rebecca was one of the six children of Farquhar MATHESON and Mary MATHESON who, with their parents, emigrated from Liverpool on the ship "New Zealander" which arrived at Portland Bay, S-W Victoria, Australia on 30 November 1853. The passenger list recorded the family as :--Farquhar MATHESON (48, Agr. Labourer from Creagh, Lochalsh, Ross-shire, Scotland), Mary (36), Isabella (17), Murdo (14), Mary (12), Rebecca (10), Christy (6), Donald (4), as well as Alexander (27, Nephew), Mary (28, Niece) & Rebecca (24, Niece).

Farquhar McLENNAN and Rebecca MATHESON were married in 1869 in ___, Victoria and had a family of eight children at Sandford, S-W Victoria from 1870 to 1886.

Farquhar McLENNAN was a farmer in the Carapook & Sandford area, who died in 1908 and was buried in the Sandford cemetery.

Farquhar's widow, Rebecca McLENNAN appears to have moved to the Swan Hill area where some of her children were living and died there in 1929.
