George & Sarah BAXTER arrived at Portland, Victoria on the "Oithona" in 1855 and a son George BAXTER was born later that year in Hamilton, Victoria.

By 1859 George & Sarah BAXTER had moved to Casterton in south-western Victoria where 8 more children were born from 1859 to 1873.

George BAXTER died at Casterton in 1900 and his wife Sarah had also died there in 1894.
