He married Sarah Ann BROOMFIELD in England and had at least two chn before emigrating to Australia.

    Anthony James DOYLE, b. 1897, Wando Vale, Victoria, son of Patrick Peter DOYLE and Margaret HEENAN. His father was allocated a block on the Wando Vale Closer Settlement Scheme of 1900. Anthony served in WW1 as Pte 1266, 39th & 7th Battalions, AIF, enlisted Hamilton 3-04-1916, embarked 27 May 1916, arrived in France 15 Sep 1916, WIA(1) 6 Nov 1916, WIA(2) 29 Dec 1917, invalided (gassed) from England 12 Mar 1918, discharged 22 Jun 1918, Melbourne. Anthony DOYLE became a publican and married Annie Winifred MORRISON of Natimuk in 1934. He died in Ballarat in 1974 and she died in 1987, both are buried in the Ballarat New Cemetery.

    Alexander James FERGUSON, b. 1893, Buangor, near Beaufort, Victoria, son of James FERGUSON and Margaret Rebecca STEVENS. His father was allocated a block on the Wando Vale Closer Settlement Scheme of 1900. Served in WW1 as Sgt 782, 8th & 60th Battalions, AIF, wounded in the landing at ANZAC and served in France where he was again wounded. Alexander married Isabel SEMPLE in England in 1918 and he died at Ouyen, Victoria in 1977.

    FERGUSON, W.

    William George FERGUSON, b. 1897, Buangor, near Beaufort, Victoria, son of James FERGUSON and Margaret Rebecca STEVENS. His father was allocated a block on the Wando Vale Closer Settlement Scheme of 1900. William served in WW1 as Pte 4488, 60th & 59th Battalions, AIF. He was wounded in France in 1916, RTA in 1919 and died at Benalla in 1980.

    Allan John McCOLL, b. 1891, Wickliffe, Victoria, son of Lachlan McCOLL and Christina McLEAN from the Isle of Mull, Scotland. Lachlan died near Wickliffe in 1906 and Christina died at Casterton in 1919. Allan was farm labourer of Wando Vale when he 1st enlisted in the 14th Battalion, AIF. He was a nephew of George McLEAN & Annie McCOLL, who had an allotment at Wando Vale under the Closer Settlement Scheme of 1900. He was discharged and later reinlisted and served in WW1 as Pte 534, 39th Battalion, AIF, enlisted 27-03-1916, WIA France 29-05-1917, WIA (2nd time) & DOW France 11-09-1918.
